About A Secret Garden

An ongoing personal battle of many years with

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia (along with

many other complications) led me to investigate various alternative methods of healing. Eventually, thank God,

I was led to excellent doctors & therapists who were able to help me manage the chronic illness and symptoms.

Ayurvedic Medicine, NAET:

(Dr. Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique), chiropractic adjustments, Oriental Medicine & Acupuncture, therapeutic massage & Reiki were the most successful treatments for me. I was so grateful to finally get some relief from the often excruciating and always debilitating pain,

I wanted to give back by helping others who were experiencing what I have been, and to also help

healthy people stay feeling well.

This inspired me to get my massage certification at the Calistoga Massage Therapy School in Santa Rosa, CA under the direction of Dr. Steven Ticen, DC. I am continuing Spa Services certification at the California Institute of Massage and Spa Services in Sonoma, CA taught by Kate Alves, CMT/Owner/Director, who has been on faculty teaching Therapeutic Massage at Napa Valley College since 1982.

I am also a certified Reiki Master in the Usui tradition.
Lineage:

Dr. Usui, Dr. Hayashi, Mrs. Takata,
P. Furumoto/I. Ishikuro, A. Robertson, J. Sande,

B. Siemering.

In wanting my home to be a haven for my family and myself as I was house-bound for days & sometimes even weeks, I became interested in Interior Decorating/Design and Feng Shui (Compass School). What started out as a hobby has led to fun and rewarding assignments.

By keeping my interests diverse and my intentions for the greater good to make others feel better in body, mind and spirit--as well as their in space, I am healing myself as well.

Namaste,

Marie

"Just for today--do not anger.
Just for today--do not worry.
Be thankful for the many blessings.
Earn your living with honest labor.
Be kind to your neighbors."

--Mrs. Takata's Diary

"A Secret Garden" was named for the book by
Frances Hodgson Burnett and inspired by
its story of a neglected, "crippled" boy,
a sickly orphaned girl, and a
weedy, abandoned garden--
They, the garden, and those around them
began to heal and blossom with some attention,
kindness, and the power of friendship.
